It was part of the gunnery from the early version, fitting all the PBYs.

A PBY could fly about 20h. a big more with extra tanks.
"Double Sunrise" long range flight with QUANTAS was 28 h.

I built the model some years ago. Nice job with awsome results.
The original was scrapped in 1952. Here are some 1950 pictures of her, at the HQ of 4th ARS at HamiltonAFB.
But Flight B was assigned at March AFB.
