    B-24 Rivet line drawings, etc?

Egads! 3-D printing!!! You're a FAR better (and brave) man than I. The city airport in my town has a project for young (actually old too) people to get involved in aviation and specifically building/repairing aircraft. It's pretty amazing to see. Some VERY talented craftsmen at work there...

    eBay: Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress

So a late F with a chin turret? I'm NOT a B-17 expert by any means but there were evidently late F's the shipped from the factory with a chin turret or were these field mods?

Man, that's NICE!!! Love the desert "pink". Do tell what you used. Such a difficult color to replicate and from the pics, it looks outstanding! Waaaaait a doggone minute......Hobby Boss is releasing a 1/48 B-24J? Jeez Louise.....depending on how stupid the price will be (and it'll probably...

    B-24 Rivet line drawings, etc?

Oh yes, I've seen that Iliad sheet! Whichever one you choose, I'm sure it'll look great! Man, those freaking 4-engine Monogram kits, huh?! I have 2 B-24's and believe it or not, only 1 B-17 in my display case right now. Like you, over the years I've built them both multiple times...

    B-24 Rivet line drawings, etc?

lol....yeah, this will be #1 of 2 B-29's in my stash too. Actually, I just recently had this second kit given to me by a good friend who's more of a car guy and will never build it so I guess it's up to me. I built one about 25 yrs ago for a gentleman I knew who was a tail gunner with the 39th...

    B-24 Rivet line drawings, etc?

Everyone, thank you very much for the kind words! I'm quite proud of it because it certainly challenged me in ways I've not had to deal with too much in 30 or so yrs of building this plastic stuff. The "in progress" pics taken on my bench/desk are kind of deceptive. The rivets and panel...

    B-24 Rivet line drawings, etc?

Thanks guys. I finished it about 8-10 months ago if memory serves me right. Below are a couple construction pics and the last was taken at a regional contest where it actually placed first. Get lucky once in a while.

    eBay: North American P-51 Mustang

Fuselage code looks (to me) as CV, not IV. IV was the fuselage code of the 369th FS while CV was the 368th (both 359th FG mind you). All other pictures of this a/c that I've seen where the fuselage code is visible, it's definitely IV but again......this sure looks like CV. Sure is possible...

Also interesting they repainted/stenciled the serial # on the front part of the tail after painting the rudder.

Possibly 43-24807 of Capt. Walter Starck. Obviously before they became "The Bluenose Bastards Of Bodney".

    What Cheered You Up Today?

I've done all ages for going on 33 yrs. now. For me, teaching instrumental music is akin to having my nailbeds pulled out with a pliers. I did the beginner thing (5th grade) for about 7 yrs and thankfully they "ran out of budget money". Still do the jazz ens. at a local HS and a couple...

"All of Vlad's forces and all of Vlad's men, are out to put Humpty together again."

Okay, so I make ONE effin' comment that dissents from the circle jerk this 1153 page thread already is and I get piled on by people telling ME to "keep it civil" and "no politics"? Seriously people. Check YOURSELVES. This entire thread is one sided political pile of dung. However, if it...
