    I don't know the answer to this, but considering Zeros typically didn't even have radios to save weight, it would follow that heating might not have been a top priority.

    F4F oil leak indicators

    What would be the symptoms of a hit to the oil line of an F4f-4? Eventually the engine would seize, but in the meantime, what happens? Are we streaming smoke? Does the manifold pressure gauge go up? (or down.) Do other instruments start acting funny? Funny sounds from the engine? Thanks!

    Hello I'm looking for an image of the IFF lights on an F4F-4. I've scoured the web and various reference books (Detail in Scale, Squadron/Signal Walk Around) and can't find anything. Did that aircraft even have them, and if so, where would they be located? Thanks! -J
