Well, "Happiness is big Bristols" I heard once. But I think if you want replies, you should go to a skinner's forum. This one here is somewhat off-topic for your kind of work. Nevertheless, it's nice work though. Too bad I got not enough time to make Il-2 skins anymore.

Hi carson,
I'm not "back", I'm afraid, I just took a few minutes at work to visit the thread. The kid is fine, though very straining at the moment. He was in the hospital the whole last week - a violent attack of Rotavirus. And obviously the whole thing must have made him edgy, he wakes up...
The night fighter versions had, but from what I knew, they had four, two in each wing. I could make out only one in the pic.
Oh, looks like it isn't there anymore. Strange... Could have been fitting to the "What we fight for"-category.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Saw the...
Oh, there's an aircraft under the ladies. Didn't see it at first. It's a Gloster Meteor, the ailerons give it away to me. But what is this black pipe sticking out of the leading edge? Maybe kind of a pitot or an aerial?

Thank you, carson. Well, he's the loud, smelly and sticky center of my life. If there's trouble at work - just look at him sleeping in his cot and everything is unimportant. I think you know what i mean. :D
And yes, it's Peter Townsend. I just thought some "out of the box" would be a nice...
Nice idea, and technically sound as far as I can say. But absolutely out of the question in 1928 for several reasons:
1. BMW had just bought the license for the PW Hornet. There would be no money to develop a completely new engine, especially when a lot of the money earned with aircraft...
Excellent work, Mike! The Operations Record Books are the best sources, primary sources. Magazine articles and books have to be taken with a grain of salt. We have to be careful with magazine articles, especially during the war. Deception and Propaganda are not only german inventions. And after...
Sorry, but I've never heard of a Il-2 or Il-10 with cowl-mounted machine guns (though there may have been prototypes). The series production models had all their guns mounted in the wings.

Thanks to all of you. It will be boy. I thought, I may also do it right the first time. No, we would have been as happy with a girl too. Maybe the next time.
Graeme, the lost son will send you a PM.

Well, I'm back for the next two weeks only, at least if everything goes fine. I'm going to be father in mid July, so I think there will be much time for the forum then. Just doing all the funny things before life gets serious.

No problem, I said it is a tough one. Obviously not even "The Great Graeme" was able to find it.:twisted:
The plane is called "DOWA 81". It was built by an engineer for the purpose to flee the German Democratic Republic with his family - in 1981. They all were arrested the day before...

I would be surprised if you knew it. I had the successor, the ETZ 250:
