Unknown B-17 engine part for identification

Hi folks, thank you very much for identification of this part. So it wasn't part of an engine. It was located near the cockpit and the crater I have seen probably shows the impact of the fuselage...

Unknown B-17 engine part for identification

Gentlemen, here are some pictures of a B-17 engine part. It has been recovered a couple of years ago out of a little crater that probably was formed during the crash of the aircraft during World War 2. One tag is clearly visible and I hope that someone is able to tell me more about this piece...

unknown parts of US-aircraft to identify

The following was found at a farmhouse west of Vienna, Austria. All pieces were inside an old chest of an radio operator of World War 2. Except 3 pieces everything fits to the equipment of an army soldier. These are: 2 pieces of thick (approx. 2 cm!) glass and one ring made of aluminum. The old...

    Unknown parts for identification

Thank you very much for that identification. Interesting that a standard hydraulic part gets modified by an aircraft manufacturer. In that case the whole B-24 was built by North American Dallas (NAA). @ MiTasol: is your document available on the net? I have not much about spare parts being used...

Looking for manuals of the De Havilland Mosquito

unfortunatly the part shown in post 15 had no number or stampings on it. For me it looked like a chassis made of cast iron. It could have housed an axle hold by two bearings. Note the original color of the upper part. The lower part were kept oudside for many years....

Looking for manuals of the De Havilland Mosquito

wow, that is great! Thanks a lot for sharing that pictures. I guess this is part of the hydraulic- or pressurized air system. The aircraft was one of 435 Hatfield works built Mk. PR XVI versions. Sorry, but I'm far away from a Mosquito-Expert and I haven't read all the erection manual yet, but I...

Looking for manuals of the De Havilland Mosquito

And here is a third part: It was reported that one main tyre was separated from the wreck and rolled down the hill until close to a farmhouse. The farmer found the part, brought it to his house, disassembled it and used the rubber to support the sole of shoes. This was left in 2019:

Looking for manuals of the De Havilland Mosquito

Thank you very much for the link to the erection manual. It is a very good source for details about the Mosquito aircraft. I contacted the guys of Mosquito Aircraft Restorations and hope they find the time and interest to help us. There are two more parts I saw last week. One has a number with a...

Okay gentlemen, I cannot find the maintenance manual on this forum - a link would be appreciated. I have seen the pilots flight operation instructions but this is not what we are looking for. Before this is getting too complicated, I'll show you some pictures of parts from a crashed Mosquito PR...
