Can anyone here tell me anything about the Gotha/Horten HO-1X? I know it was experimental and was nearly put into service but that's about it.

I voted for the Reggiane Re 2005. It was very nimble and well-armed. Much better than the Macchi.

I think the worst aircraft would be Italy's Fiat C.R. 42 Falco. It might not have been a bad plane before the war, but it was quickly outclassed by the superior monoplane fighters. Production was terminated in early 1942.
