Possibly it was the "Horseman" P-51 ?? I'll go with that I think.

I'll do some finding out. I think the yellow cowling must have put the idea of a Bf109 into my mind. I'm pretty certain it didn't have the wings of a Spitfire, but I can't be certain. Airframes, I think you could have a point with the Buchon. I'll have to find out coz this has got me curious.

hi I was on my golf course today (Nr Cambridge) and saw a warbird fly over me. It had invasion stripes, but it looked and sounded like a Bf109 ? Is there such a bird? Maybe resides at Duxford?
