    A strange aircraft

Some nice pics. I would be worried about the wing stress on liftoff with the engins outboard of the forward flight ones. But that is just my impression without any test numbers.

    The Amerika bombers

What about some nice caribian island? Even if you never launched a mission, I would take that to the Eastern Front  U-boats were able to operate, and could have helped to supply a bomber base, but for how long, would be the big question.:|

    The Amerika bombers

I think that the major problum was the one way nature. Crews would not be able to get back. The Over the Pole trip was promissing though. That would have been able to hit Canada and posibly the Great lakes. Do you all ave any thoughts? I read a little on the Polar rutes, but not that much

    Most 'Underrated' Aircraft of WW2?

Beaufighters! I can agree. Not much to look at, but they did provide a lot of work and could take a good amout of damage.8)

    The Amerika bombers

The German Air attacks may have gone better then we think. I have seen pictures of German U-boats off thee Atlantic City beaches and they were not being shot at, in daylight. The US coastal deffence and patrols were at times lacking, but it would be one or two raids to get them to...

    The Amerika bombers

Cub Driver: The German Seaplanes could be lifted and relunched by catopult from the tenders. Look at this site: BV 138 flying boat of WWII for some pics of a Bv-138 with a tender.:D

    Most 'Underrated' Aircraft of WW2?

The 109 may have been so loved because it was the ride most pilots knew the best. I agree that after the 109F the airframe was getting old and over taxed, the Ks tried to fix this and in my mind were nice. The Fw190s seem more suited to the Eastern Frount with more space, and ground targets...

    Seaplanes web site

Mosquitoman> Thanks. It is from a model I found. From time to time I like to change them. Will be looking for a new one soon. I like Seaplanes and B-24s, and other bobers. Nose art aswell. :)

    The Amerika bombers

I should clear some things up. One, I was thinking of the Fw-200 in so mush as it was a start, all be it a poor start to a program that was utterly devistated by poor vision at the top. That is my opinion. The second is the latter 4 engine bobers still had potential, but when they started...

    Lack of German Aircraft Carrier

The GZ needed a few more years to realy get going, but realy the program was doomed. I would have to say she had to meny guns on the decks that appear to be more for surface actions then AA. A fleet carrier that had the speed like GZ would have been very good in the open ocean with the u-boats...

    Most 'Underrated' Aircraft of WW2?

I agree, the Cat is always well talked about and kept the funds away from the better designs for the USN. Underrated, The Coronado, the big Concolidated Seaplane that was a life saving air ambulance. 2: Ju-52 it did everything you could ever think about and then some. BV-138: mines, shipping...

    The Amerika bombers

Hello All! It has been a long time for me away, but I am now back. These bombers could have been ready much sooner, when they were needed to go over the Urals. Dose any one have thoughts on that? I know the 4 engine program was doomed when the general was kiled in a car accident, but that...

    Graf Zeppelin found

Anyone able to confirm that the finding is the GZ? As for the aircraft, they and the ship would not have made it out. The Navy needed a lot to try and come lose to the British, USN, and the Japs. If they would have managed the carrier from the start as a priority then they might have had...

What kind of aircraft would you want to fly in WWII?

OOO lordy what to pick! I have been away for a very long time and am now trying to get myself all back togehter. As for the aircft, why not a seaplane, patrolling off the Maine coast protecting convoys or trainig pilots. I have so much to pick from on this list, maybe a staff pilot ;)
