Hey Guys,
Just got a great album in from a 5th Army guy who served in Italy in WWII. Among his photo was this cool shot of two planes flying overhead. I can't identify them. Any thoughts? Slightly swept back wings and twin engines may help. Reminds me of the 262.
I wish I knew! I few of the shots show guys with armored division patches. And there is one shot of a fella near the Eiffel Tower. There weren't that many photos in the lot.
Sorry I didn't realize the code info was in the article. I did read it though, interesting stuff! Feel free to post the pictures in other forums/threads. Thanks for everything! I will check the movie out!
WOW! Never thought I would learn this much from these photos! It looks like the number on the side may be a 3 or an 8. Is there anyway to find code info? Thanks BTW!
Hey Guys,
I recently came across these two photos in an album I picked up on ebay and was wondering if anyone knew what type of plane the two GI's are posing next to. You guys have been awesome in the past, and I appreciate any input!
Hey guys!
Just bought a neat little group of photos on ebay and stumbled across these three shots. Can anyone ID what type of plane it is? I assume it is German but it may be British.....
Thanks for the help guys :)
Thanks for the quick ID - I am positive about the date - the album has no dates later than 1945. Strange - I can see that the C119 didnt see service until years later.
Nice guys!! Yes, the album covers the period directly after the war. I believe this photo came from late may of 45. It would be neat if the plane is still in the museum! Another interesting photo that may be related is this one - I think it is a display of captured SS and hitler documents...
