    Home made "Pro Weld"

Thanks for the input. I just received some Tenax and some off brand “Pro Weld”; and MEK is still (as far as I know) available in hardware stores here so I'm OK for now. I was curious more than anything else since I had seen the formula on some site but your suggestions are great. Thanks again.

    Home made "Pro Weld"

I once read a formula how to make glue (like Ambroid Pro Weld) using nail polsh remover and another ingredient. Can anyone provide me with that formula and the ratios?

Diffrences between the Ki-61-I-Otsu and the Ki-61-I-Hei ?

Broadside, are you sure about the Ha-40 [I]radial[I] engine? I thought the Ki-61 used liquid cooled engines, until they became the Ki-100.

According to and annoying Hollywood myths....when are they going to learn?

There is a scene from THE SEARCHERS. The “good guys” are defending a river ford from attacking Comanche’s when John Wayne tosses Ward Bond a pistol. Ward immediately pulls the trigger and “accidentally” fires into the ground, they then go on as if nothing happened. Never really understood why...

Micro-Mark has offered something very similar for several years, although it appears yours is larger and theirs doesn't have the slots for brush's.

    Firing MG's and cannons

Come on guys! When I posted that B-25 crews reported their planes paused when the 75mm canon was fired I thought everyone would take it a humorous example of the thread subject. But if we are going to discount or deeply analyze all personal reports by vets then I think much of what we think...

    Firing MG's and cannons

I’ve read that crews of B-25’s w/75 mm guns reported that the plane actually paused in flight when the gun was fired!

    A gunship in WW2

This was also done to some B-24’s as well and, as I’ve read, they both didn’t work well. Too heavy to keep up with the formations.

    The P-39 a Zero Killer???

Not to beat a dead horse but I'm pretty sure the guns were routinely removed for servicing and replacement. Things like armor and other equipment I can see not screwing around with. And I have to believe someone thought of lightening the P-39, yet I've never seen any mention of it in anything I...

    Recon Pilot in the PTO

I grew up in S. Cal with a kid who’s dad flew Recon in the PTO in F-5’s and B-25’s. His (the Pilot) name was James (Jim) Farr. This is all I know of him and I have long since lost touch with my boyhood friend. I would like to find out more about Jim Farr - what unit(s) he was in, the...

    What Annoyed You Today?

Just found out our local Animal Shelter is facing closure. They accept all small animals, no questions, and, I think, provide a valuable service to the community. But donations and volunteer help has dried up. A few of us are mobilizing and trying to help, only time will tell if we succeed.

    The P-39 a Zero Killer???

OK, I accept your reasoning, FLYBOYJ, and I’m sure you know more than me. I’m not even a Pilot let alone a WWII Vet (although I have ridden some WWII era aircraft - including a P-38 ). (for some reason the post insist on putting a "smiley face" where I wrote P-38 ) It still seems strange to...

    The P-39 a Zero Killer???

OK, then explain why they, and again under their dictator, could be allowed to do this and not our own Pilots and Crews under a “free” government? If they were free and this was a matter of survival why couldn’t they “shoot first and explain later”?

    The P-39 a Zero Killer???

Yet that is what the Soviet’s did and had great success in the air to air role. It is weird to me that US Pilots, known for not adhering to discipline or orders they didn’t like, couldn’t or wouldn’t lighten their P-39’s; while the Red Pilots, under one of the most ridged and brutal of...
