The cockpit detail is impressive!!! really nice work. I hope some of it will be seen after you close up te fuselage as the opening is kind of small.
I too was not impressed with the "broken back" apearance of the hasegawa Oscar family. hence my choice for the Nichimo and Fine Molds kits.
I was...
Great start! I like what you did with the extra added cockpit detail. looks great.
Have the Nichimo Ki 43 I and Fine Molds Ki 43 II Ko Oscar's in my stash. So following with great intrest.
Thanks all for chimming in on this one and the overwhelming response! thanks a lot.
Even though I have plenty of SB sources on my book shelves, there is not much on the SB in the S.C.W. in these.
Perhaps there is more detailed info available in Spanish literature.
I'm quite intruiged with the...
I'm looking for more info regarding Republican SB's flown in Spain during the civil war.
More particular on this SB. It is still in Republican markings (as seen on the tail) but it caries a very different sheme as normally associated with SB's flown in Spain.
First a picture I didn't find in a...
And Falcon's H-1 also recieved some attention. I feel I'm getting the hang of the Vallejo Air paint now.
I started out with RLM 82 light green and used paper masks for the camo pattern.
Next came RLM 83, dark green. This color was a bit more difficult to spray as the coverage of this paint...
Thanks for the kind replies!
So, I found some time a carried on with the pair of Ta's.
Both models recieved paint on their undersides. I used Lifecolor's RLM 76 for this in a few tin layers while adding some white and more thinner as I wen't allong. First is the "H", the other 2 pics are from...
Hi All! I've made some progress again on the two Ta 152 models.
First the Falcon Ta 152 H;
I had to use quiet some putty as expected, but nothing too serious. I used combination of Tamiya's Grey putty and some Vallejo PPP.
This was followed by a few layers of Mr. Surfacer 1000 to smooth things...
I've done a bit more and both models have got the wings on, fuselages closed, tailplanes attached and both start to look like Ta 152's.
The Falcon kit was a bit more work then anticipated at first, but still doable. I think most of it was due to user error (my own fault and complicating things a...
Both models have progressed a bit further.
I Installed everything in the fuselages and closed the up. Pretty straightforward for the Hobby Boss Ta 152 C, a bit more work for the Falcon Ta 152 H
First the engines and the made up exhaust for the "H"
I added a triangle made from plastic...
That's a very interesting observation Wayne. Makes sense, as there seams to be actually very little known about the exact number of Ta 152 C production. And given the fact that at the last stage of the war many Fw 190 variant went to front line service with partialy unpainted underwings...
Thanks for the input, I dug into the same volume and found these two pictures of 110 006.
I suspect the larger bulge above the air intake on the fuselage for the DB 603 LA, makes this indeed "VH+EY" From what I understand, the D 603 LA requiered a larger engine barrer. Hobby Boss does include...
I continued working on both Ta-152 models. Wings are on and fuselages are closed. (Pics to follow soon)
As I was looking into the camouflage of the Ta-152 C1, I noticed that the codes that came with the kit are not "CI+XM", but are for a different machine coded "VH+EY" with werke Nr. 110006...
Use these for some experimenting, build straight from the box. I got a few older kits lined up as "Guinia Pigs" to test all sorts of finishes, masks, weathering techniques etc...(as I don't want to ruin the more expensive/aftermarket filled kits in my stash) In my experience these "try-out's"...
I'm really impressed to see the magic you preform on this old kit.
I'm Always in awe for those who build these smaller scales and have the patience to detail all this tiny parts.!
