Official Old Codger this year @3/4 century old. Returned to building models to maintain sanity living in a nursing home in South Texas after a career in music, choral conducting and opera and Renaissance Faires and Pirate Festivals.
I built a diorama honoring my father and his service in the 318th Infantry in France in WWII. It was such a profound experience that I decided to honor the men, family members and friends, who influenced my life. An uncle who lied about his age to enlist in the Air Corps at 16 and built air fields in the Philippines, another uncle who served on a destroyer in the Aleutians, a neighbor who flew P-38s and protected my father-in-law who was a RO/G on B/25 s in North Africa and Italy in the 12th Air Force and that brings me here.
