I use an old Tamiya paint glass jar. The wide opening and shallow depth lets you get out the right amount. I've started using goo to cement wheels on struts. It seems to give a larger, more sturdy connection.

I have found that the panel washes don't work well on acrylics. The paint needs to be enamel of a varnish clear coat. Instead of a capillary action concentrating it in groves and along ridges, it soaks into the paint and gives a blotchy stain so the Testors should be fine.
Just picked up from my LHS for GB-68. This is "probably" the last purchase this year as I have everything I need for Twin. I have a local model show I'm planning to attend in September so that's a possibility.
