Hi Max;
He had a bit of an illness (his first) but other than that, he's been healthy and strong, takes after his namesakes. XD
I love being a mom - taking him to the zoos, to airshows, to fairs - he's fascinated with everything we do together, even sitting in front of YouTube and watching...
Hi Lucky13, whatcha need to know? Been a bit busy with my Wee Walter (LOL) but I'm still available for any questions you might have. Mostly I have Osprey stuff so far, and a few other books for paints, and a couple of pics of Oesau's myriad #13s.
Oddly enough, 13 is a big part of my life too...
yep, mystery solved. We in fact are members of a German-american club and some of the veterans (and we're not talking american ones) love Peter when he shows up for the big events in the uniform with the offending symbol blacked out - he hardly has to pay for beers, but always helps with...
Peter's a re-enactor and just got back from a small show, didn't have time to change. He portrays an Oberst of JG 1; we are finishing up the uniform soon and he needs to get the period spectacles to finish it out.
Yep, Walter is my first, and my only. I'm too old to be having any more.
I think you guys need a new one of me not in Stuka mode. ROFL.
Though my #$^$^$%^$$% glasses broke right before the scheduled induction, so I'm wearing my birth-control specs. ROFL.
Just a short note to let you know I'm doin' fine, had my son on the 20th, weighing in at 8 pounds and 20.5 inches. He's going to be a big boy.
We named him Walter Otto - Walter after Walter Oesau and Walter Schuck, and Otto after my great-grandfather.
Here's a couple of shots - Peter with...
June 28th, Walter Oesau's birthday. Incidentally, the SAME day (Saturday) as his was back in 1913.
Freaky. Even freakier when I just looked and realized it's around 98 days until the day.
Crossing my fingers for you guys then; this one is my first (and last) so it's particulary tough. Specially when you have to move to a new place in the middle of it.
Those are some pretty names too; if I was having a girl we had picked Patricia. But y'all know what I'm havin. And hubby...
Congrats. LOL. But I'm a tellin ya, it ain't just the FIRST trimester that's the worst. Muwhahaa. Two more weeks and I'm on my third trimester. AND IT IS HADES through the ENTIRE thing (but I wouldn't trade it for the world either.) We women find "100 Ways That Our Husbands P*** Us...
Actually, I think they still should be applied today. Too many men treat we women as men, and that's not right, because we ARE different. XD
And yes, I DO work harder than my skinnier, unmarried compatriots. But I don't need constant supervision or direction. XD I'm not THAT vapid. ROFL
To an extent. Peter and I are also re-enactors, portraying JG1 Oesau, or at least a part of it. XD
I mean, if they have re-enactors that resemble Hermann Goering in weight and portraying paratroopers, why not someone who is 6'5" portraying a pilot? It's doable.
Thanks Charles!
Funny thing - we had a bet going - He wanted a girl (shocking, I know) and I knew it was a boy. If I was wrong, I had to treat him to Red Lobster. If he was wrong...
I'll take two lobster tails, some coconut shrimp and a small steak, rare. XD XD:lol:
Oh, and Elliot...
Ow Henk. Erm, I know this sounds funny, but try soaking it in cold black tea. That should stop some of the swelling and the pain. Unless you can get aloe plants in Africa - those seem to really work on bad sunburns. (I tan, I wouldn't know. Hubby burns like an SOB though, and this has worked on...
Grrrrrrrr. You guys with the 37 and 40c weather.
Yesterday it was about, oh, 35F or so, there was a big shining yellow thing in the sky, I don't know what that was. But I was outside and I didn't melt so I guess it was okay. Considering we see so little of the Shining Yellow Orb this season...
