I recently purchased a wooden propeller blade from a Dutch Military School and was wondering if you could help me ID it? It is 100.5cm long and 18cm wide (about 36 inches by 7 inches). Attached are some pictures. It had some brass on it at one point but it was taken off before I got it.
I recently purchased this prop in the UK. Unfortunately the blade broke at the bottom when the aircraft crashed. Inside the prop there are some markings. It is about 8.5 inches wide and 53 inches long.
Being a Downham Market resident, I sure hope they are able to raise it successfully. While the airfield is gone, most of the buildings remain. I would love to see the boys successfully brought back to the UK. They deserve it.
If it is British, I would try to contact Duxford Air Museum outside Cambridge in the UK, they have a huge aircraft restoration shop and they probably have a good idea. Worst case, next time I am there, I can look at all the seats.
