Hi all,
back after 2 months touring in the EU and thought I would post some photos of the progress with the gunsight, or as it now turns out in my Gunsights as the Technician now has three 16B's in production - think I should now call him Mr./ Herr Revi. Also gunsight mounts are also being...
Welcome on board....
I am still a novice on here but have already discovered that there are many knowledgeable experts very willing to help with the Me-262 to whom I am very grateful
..
I found this video about the Me-262 from the Munich Museum very interesting as I started to learn about...
He has all our admiration for his work, not just these Gunsights and the Navigation lights (for this Me-262 and other aircraft in the museum) he has also made a couple of replacement throttle control rods for the 262 as some were missing. Here are some photos.
Original and 'Basic' Copies side...
Hi All,
Just to keep you up to date here is a photo the replica REVI-16B sight being fabricated in the Conservation Centre.
This is one of 2 being made as we decided our Fw-190 would also look a lot better with a Gun-Sight.

Hi Jon
As promised these above are photos of the 262 in our Museum,
As "mjfur" has pointed out - this armour attached to the seat back is not original and was added by the RAF somewhere in its long history and journey from airbase to airbase around the UK.
Hope they are of interest

Hi Mjfur,
Here are a couple more photos of the seat and yes it is fixed and looks nothing like the diagrams.
I also noticed that the seat harness shoulder straps are missing and only Lap straps are there - so something else to find out about and add to the aircraft if we can.
Unfortunately...
Yes indeed, when slow and vulnerable the P51's attacked from behind leading to Flak Alleys being created and FW-190 Dora-9's mounting a standing patrol.
I am very sorry Richard, there are people on this group who collect various items of aircraft memorabilia and who maybe able to help you but sadly I am not one of them.
My interest is purely in restoring the Me-262 in our museum to as good a specification as we can (within a limited budget)...
Yes that makes sense to remove it as nobody is going to creep up behind a 'Schwalbe' so you don't need it So yes maybe just a UK fabrication somewhere/sometime in the past.
Hi Mjfur,
Yes you may well be right, as you know this aircraft has been taken apart and moved around many times from RAF base to RAF base etc. and then backwards and forwards between the two museum locations, I will try get access to the AP's and see if anything is written up in there.
