Just because...here is my H34 panel. Trying to get back to a somewhat original condition. Still missing several placards, switch and one instrument. A few instruments are look a likes and not proper part number. Will replace as I find. A real beast, just like the aircraft! Just thought I...
Good point MiTasol, always make sure whatever you use for ANY electronic/electrical control, it's rated for the AC/DC voltage and current you will be putting through it. Also, CLOSELY inspect any existing wiring.....I usually replace ALL the wiring. If the items were stored properly for all...
Don't feel bad about using it in your car! I replaced a bunch of control/light switches, lights, key starter, overhead lights in my boat with all WWII aircraft parts. Even put in a magneto switch and Spitfire starter switch for engine starting. Got really tired of cheap plastic crap breaking...
It looks very similar to what you are describing........they were metal plate tuning capacitors for the transmitters and receivers...
As you would turn the frequency dials (Kc or Mc, Kilocycle or Megacycle as they were labeled then usually, we use Khz , Mhz today, Kilohertz Megahertz) the...
Glad to help. Let me know if you have any other instrument needs or questions...I have a fairly large collection of WWII aircraft instruments.
Was happy to finally contribute something to this forum!! If you stick around you'll find out the members here are highly intelligent and really

Speaking of the Avenger.......here is my panel (authentic) from either the XTBF or TBF-1 program. I've managed to find all correct instruments except the right artificial horizon indicator ( I've made a look alike)....should be a Horizon Mark II. If anyone knows the whereabouts of one I'm REALLY...
I've been buying and collecting military aircraft instruments for 30 years. Send me some clear pics and I can give you current fair market value for most anything.
It's not straight forward.....so many factors are involved as with anything people collect/use/resell......condition, how rare...
Thank you too Larry....and thank you for your service! I did some field testing at Shaw some years back with F-16's doing live gun runs over my head! And Close!
Was thrilling to say the least....interesting that the Air Force's safety standards are far less than the Navy's!
Thanks Wurger! That certainly looks like original photos to me. The AAU-19 must have been a part of the C's mods. Fantastic! Puts my fears and doubts to rest!
