Lonely CH-34 Choctaw on some long-forgotten airfield in West Germany, 1969. Number 71723. My personal photo from a cheap AGFA 35mm camera. Feel free to share.
You'll have to look up this one from the Vietnam Era on the you tube music site: "Sky Pilot" by Eric Burdon and The Animals. Best anti-war song I've heard. A Sky Pilot was the British name for an Army Chaplain. Don't go for the short radio version, be sure to find the full length 7 and a half...
Dad was also in Manila with the 3rd Naval Construction Brigade in 1945 right after the Battle of Manila was over. Here are some of his photos showing destruction of high value targets. Maybe some of you can identify the Japanese field pieces in the top 2 photos. The bottom right photo is a side...
Found a period photo in my Dad's WWII Navy Seabee papers showing the Immaculate Conception Church in Guiuan, Samar, Philippines. Out of curiosity I googled the unusual Guiuan location and found the modern photo of the same Church on the Wikipedia site. The 1944 photo is a personal photo, the...
These Shillelagh firing M551 Sheridans created a lot of excitement back in 1969 when they were delivered to the Motor Pool of the 8th ID 1st Bde's (ABN) Armor unit. Can't remember the exact unit/location but I think this was in Maintz, West Germany. Just passing through, had to take the pics...
2013 Florida Forestry Fire Fighting Huey. Brush fire threatened our neighborhood. Sorry for the blurry smoke. While you’re here, find the Fire Truck Forum for more news concerning this fire…….
1990's Stateside, our Georgia Army National Guard Infantry Battalion conducted frequent Air Assault and Sling Load Ops. We actually pioneered and tested the Tandem Humvee hook-ups with the custom "Knuckle" connecting the two vehicles shown under the Chinook.
Here are a couple of Hueys back in 1989, Air Assault Ops during Air Assault School. The two-blade Hueys were not capable of flight.....they simply beat the air into submission! Just kidding, I love those things!
1969 Cold War, West Germany, Bundeswehr NATO Allies training on their ranges with their weapons. Machine Gun MG3, Rifle H&K (early) G3. Both same 7.62mm ammo as our M-60 and M-14. They could have long hair, we could not! I liked their Commie target.
