    Corsair White 735 and 795

Going through some pics of this airplane for a model project I notice that neither airplane appears to have antenna masts. Thinking of rendering a 1/48 of 735 and this pic seems to validate building it sans antenna masts. Is there any tech info regarding the missing masts...

    Grumman F4F markings

Hello all. I need a little help with a particular training squadron located at NAS Sanford, Florida, in WWII. In the photo below you can just make out a non-standard paint scheme on the nose cowl of this F4F-4 parked on the flightline at NAS Sanford. It appears to be completely around the...

    Identify This Plane?

Beaufighter. All Blenheim nose datums project forward of the nacelles. The earliest Blenheim nose, though short, still projected ahead of the prop hubs.

What were you working on today?!

A PV1 Ventura. Today I got half of the right outer wing panel attachment nutplates riveted. I can only volunteer my Saturdays so I'll finish the job next week. Then I'll move to the center wing section, install those nutplates on both sides and the outer wing panels will be ready to attach. Then...

    Memorabilia

Just dropping by to lurk around the 4 corners of this cool site. I have some memorabilia that was left to me by my pop. I would like to donate it to the organizations that would appreciate it, whether a museum or related organization, but I don't seem to find any web locations to contact...

    Earhart's Plane Found?!

That was wild. I never heard of this and even though I have to squint really hard to make the facial similarity work, the personalities supporting it make me come to a near conclusion on her survival.

    OLD CROW 1/32 Tamiya's P-51D

Nicely done. Pretty sure the tops of the wings of this version of the 51 were painted silver at the factory so all bare metal weathering should be altered to weathered paint.

1957 Airfix 1/72 Short sunderland flyingboat

This is in Kermit Weeks' museum in Lakeland, Florida. I just visited the place a little while back for the Soar and Roar event. Lot's of WWII stuff, Kermit making fly-bys in his P-51B, sports car displays and time trial course runs on the ramp, motor cycle jumping and hyrofoils racing in the...

    F4U-1 Birdcage

Very nicely done. Obviously this extent of weathering is a layered method going from a factory to a theatre-ultimate appearance. What would you estimate your total hands-on time is on this particular model in the finish alone? Thanks for posting.

    Yak 50 Dog Fight

Camera plane is constantly on the verge of a stall as much of the footage shows buffeting. He over shot many of his opportunities. Those must have been some crazy, exhausting air battles.

    FAA F4U-1A Corsair

Yep, nice looking model. The Corsair has always been a favorite of mine. A4K - Right. The Corsair was spot-welded from the empennage forward. No rivets were used. The empennage was standard rivet construction utilizing flush riveting throughout. No button-head (protruding) rivets were used at...

    1/48 Hasegawa Hurricane Mk.I Trop.

Gotta be one of the finest modeling jobs I've ever seen of this plane. You have an eye for staying true to scale appearance. Very nice.
