Intially, I was researching the Sweet 17 (4297276)...but in this instance I was asking in a more general sense. From time to time I see pictures of planes and I wonder about the history... Both of the sites posted were very helpful but I would still like to know what happened to the actual...

I am having a problem researching a planes history and I have a couple of questions that I think you guys might be able to help me with... 1) Is there a online database of aircraft serial numbers? If so, where? 2) How can someone deterimine what happened to a certain aircraft? Ex - Shot down...

Actually he's not a big fan of modern aviation....he prefers the WWII era planes. But he is quite knowledgable on a variety of aviation information.

Funny, I met an Aussie aviation enthusiast tonight and he was tellign me about how the Aussie air force still uses the F-111's. He said something about them buying 25 of them from AMARC. Very cool guy and VERY knowledgable...I passed this URL to him! Hopefully, we'll see him (Rowan) around here...

Chocks Away...the Iron Crosses are a biker/hot rodder thing. My buddy (who did the grill) had a Iron Cross theme going (grill, taillights, earrings on pinup girl and pinstriping on back of cab)...long story short? Yeah, it was a previous theme!

Note the "Flak" hits (aka rustouts that I didn't feel like fixing) on the drivers door! :)
