the supercharger raises the effective compression ratio of the cylinders and the oil from the induction system is fully burned like a dessel. in a liquid engine, coolant burns white. running an engine at night with short stacks really shows what is going on. mike nixon

keep it simple. they used one radiator and the coolant went through the oil heat exchanger then engine cylinder blocks and back to radiator. Oil temps ran 100C + but the engine oil pump and bearing clearences were built for the higher oil temps. the P-51 H has 2 cores in the radiator, one for...
