What type of B-17 tyre tread is this?

Hi everyone. I saw this photo of a B-17G-35VE "Daddy's Delight",303rd BG mid 1944 in England, and am not sure what type of tyre tread this is? Is it the common "diamond tread" type? Thanks!

    P-51D Diablo Normandy?

So what period do you think this aircraft was photographed in? I think June 44 would be impossibly early? I have subsequently read that the photo was apparently taken at Azeville A-7 airfield in Normandy.

    P-51D Diablo Normandy?

Hello. I'm trying to find any ifo about this aircraft, a P-51D-15 serial 44-15611. What I have found is that the photo was apparently taken in Normandy in June 1944. I am not sure I believe this as surely that was too early for D-15s? Any info would be gratefully appreciated.

    B-17G tyres 1944

Thanks mjfur. Yes, almost all modern-produced tyres are grooved now. I've been trying to see if there was any correlation to time period or unit and tread pattern on B-17s but it seems so far that I can't find anything.

    B-17G tyres 1944

Hello. I've noticed a lot of 'block tread' tyres on photos of B-17Gs based in England during 1944-45, and almost no ' diamond tread' tyres, yet almost all models of B-17s have 'diamond tread' tyres. Does anybody know if there was a specific period during which specific tyre treads were used?

    5./Jg300 fuselage bands

Thank you for looking. It seems the brick red band only became standard around October 44 and the blue-white-blue in late December 44.
