These instructions are great with a load of historical detail in them.... I think that my builds will be average at best  , but it is giving me loads of joy seeing the Pup come to life... Got these direct from Wingnuts in under a week shipped free from NZ, Vic. I, too, am excited about...

    Recent Purchases

Oh dear oh dear... Always a little humbling when all of my recent purchases arrive at once. Off to town to buy a new cutting matt and other things that I don't really need... I am amazed that the models arrived in a week. If the quality of the manuals is anything to go by...

Just ordered one of these... Wingnut Wings - 1/32 Sopwith Pup RNAS Something quite different and not in keeping with the forum theme, but still. I am still to finish off my P-39 that I received for my birthday (thanks again, son!) which was in January, but I couldn't resist. If I...

Thanks for the tip Airframes. I have decided to leave her as is. A baseline for me to reflect on how I am progressing skill wise. Awesome tip for the next one though!

    Post Your Models!

High praise coming form you guys, thank you. Feel free top pm any tips, except for filling and sanding gaps... I noticed that one all by myself! I'll practice weathering etc on the next one, Spec Hobby P-39 (RAAF) which I am a little scared of...

    Post Your Models!

Guys, just my way to say thanks for all of the advice I have received both directly and indirectly (browsing). This is my first model in about 20-25 years. The last one I can recollect doing was when I was about 15. My love of warbirds and flying things has never died with a small move...

    First airbrush is incoming...

That quote in itself is almost reason for me to go with acrylics. If I teach myself with acrylics now, I'll have less trouble in the future... Still concerned about 'local' stock, but I'll just have to get organised and ensure that I have all I need when I hit the order button. Not too...

    First airbrush is incoming...

Well the airbrush has landed and I have already had a play, which resulted in a cowling that I am considering stripping (again) and a spilled tin of Humbrol yellow enamel. All learning experiences though so I'm :D despite the hiccups. Pretty impressed with the unit thus far. I am worried...

    Preview before you buy

What a wonderful site! I can preview the models so I can order the paints at the same time. Brilliant stuff, thank you!

    First airbrush is incoming...

Thanks loads everyone, this is a really helpful discussion. I guess the major issues I have found with using enamels on the brush are the dry times and the cleanup. That said, I like the effects that enamels have and I have already worked out that I should be trying to paint single colours...

Thanks Vic, I am in Far North Queensland. So far I have visited Phoenix hobbies in Cairns and they have been good to deal with. I think they primarily stock Model Master for airbrushing... I think...
