Yes, the Airfix is nicely tooled and fits together a treat. After the roundel comments etc. the other month, I decided to go for the Swedish option. Here it is.
I'm saving "The Last" for the Jays kit..... a Kiwi model in honour of our Kiwi researcher!
Two days away from here... leads to about three replies!
Tony....... you are damn right about the September issue of Military Aircraft mag's piece on Pr.XIX roundels, letters and paint jobs. Extremely detailed on that front and historically comprehensive - Evan you will either eat it up or...
Hi Evan, Tony and friends
We are indeed heading towards another thread here..... it's sounding like "1/72 Spitfire kits: where to get 'em and what we do with 'em". Anyway Evan(grin) you did ask......
The Fujimi I have an eye open for is the low-back F.R.Mk.14E "Fighter Recon" and to do it with...
Me too, Evan......... looking forward to following your example in how to tackle what is quite a demanding model for a novice like me!
I have a slightly off-topic question for you, but it may be of interest to other Spit fiends. About a couple of weeks back, you mentioned that you were also...
Hmmmm... I'd be interested to see that magazine too, Con. Is it the September issue which contains the article?
Well Evan, after the extensive work with your personal research team Con's gauntlet is definitely yours. No way am I going to Seletar with my Jays "The Last" for some time yet!

Yes, me too.
Evan, I will be interested to see what you received. I'd be particularly interested to see a pic of what's on your decal sheet. Let me know what response you get out of John Stone. I have to email him sometime to get the canopies missing from MY kit! then i can kill two birds...
Hey Evan, I had thought I might be a little "aht of order" there...... what am I doing trying to correct the guy who's done more research on this plane than any other modeller? Doh! What it was.... I found an old (missing various parts) Ventura PS888 kit on Ebay. Noticed that its decal sheet...

Decals! Here I am with the decals from my Jays kit (bought last month) and the PS888 separate decal sheet picture downloaded into a window beside this one. There are only two differences from the sheet version:

Great stuff, Con

Jon
Sorry Evan
Only four of the five expected Spits were on the deck. Sod's law - BBMF was of course PS915. Came out of nowhere and roared down the flightline, retreated to an annoying distance for 'batics show then sodded off.
As a consolation photo, here's our local hero Charlie Brown -...

Hi guys, been busy the last few days
Thanks for the useful tips about web shopping. Turns out that the Wish List is just a way of reminding yourself what you fancy buying - the fact that you're usually invited to have it emailed to other people seems a rather unsubtle hint to your friends...
