  • Is there a post length limit? The left coast, SF, is where my dad was from. My cousin Sarah is out here too. It is crazy what has happened to SF. Extremely unfortunate. Affluenza has f/u this area badly. User name is my brothers name. Where are you living? Would be glad to meet up. I come usually every year or other year. Speaking of beer, it is amazing how many more good choices there are in most every store.
Bicentennial! I took a lesson with Vt. Flying Service about 5 years ago. They gave me the log book and it is one of two lessons in there, alas. The second I took from a guy in Cabot who has a tail dragger, flying out of his pasture. That was really fun, to fly over the suddenly unfamiliar terrain that I had grown up in. My cousin Chris took me up from Knapp in a rental in the early 80s'. We flew over family reunion.

My name is Jiro Yamamoto. What is yours?

Jiro Yamamoto, didn't I have a brief chat with you at the Jaquith fall festival last October? I was manning the Forest Farmers table next to the Marshfield Energy Committee. I'm a Cate, of the E Montpelier/Calais tribe, and we're distantly related to the Pitkin clan. I currently live in a trailer formerly owned by Kevin Goslant and his dad across Rt2 from Sass Ave, which goes to the old Dwight Duke farm. Small world.

You missed your user name. You would have been a real hit on here if you'd joined as Isoroku. Truly a small world. My family has a long history with Japan. My paternal great grandfather ran the Universalist missionary network in Japan 1890-1908, and my granddad was born in Tokyo. My great grandmother became a professor at Waseda University. My maternal grandfather was a missionary in Shizuoka, where my Mom was born.
Hey X, where do you live? I live in SF, but I grew up in Marshfield, just downstream from Cabot. Sending you greetings!

Greetings, shipmate! What year out of Twinfield? Montpelier HS 1965 here. Used to instruct for VT Flying Service and flew Beech 1900s for Brockway Air out of PLB and taught gliders at Sugarbush.
How'd you wind up on the wrong coast? SF's a great town, but too pricy for my taste. How'd you come up with your username?
If you're ever here in Marshfield, give me a shout, I'll buy you a beer.
    Cheers,
    Wes
Just curious why you rated my last post as 'dumb'?

Sorry, Bill, that wasn't intentional! Small screen, large finger, fast scrolling, slow screen refresh. Just missed it. Will fix. Truly dumb posts are pretty rare on this forum, and I avoid using that icon. Thanks for pointing it out. I owe you.

Wes- I wasn't mad and I always consider the source - just curious. The other 3 were kinda mysterious but I take the likes and the boneheads with a grain of salt.

    Thanks, Bill
We've got our share of "old salts" here, so there's no sodium deficiency onboard. I went back through all my "ratings given" and found and corrected a number of dumb finger errors. Thanks for the heads up. Hey, shoot me a line when your book publishes. I want to buy a copy.
