Hi,
I am just completing a PSS 1/10th scale model of a Mig15. I'm looking for a font for the numbers on the fuselage. Is there a download site?
Thanks Mike
I have scratch built a 1/10th scale PSS Spitfire. For strength the cockpit area is not hollow but solid foam. It would be nice to stick a photo of the cockpit on the foam. I've found a photo of the instrument panel and stuck that at the front of the cockpit area but I can't find a picture...
Wurger. It is the E4 variant I believe. I remember that you advised me of a link that produced a single A4 sheet with that plane with a picture of Galland on it. It was very useful during the construction.
Alte Hase. Got a Spitfire as well, but it is in the hanger for some front end work. I said...
The truth is, I actually drew the chevron and bars with a CAD program ("TotalCAD") I bought at the local supermarket. Mastering the package took ages and getting the scale correct was tricky. I don't have the other drawings. I did find some on this site but they were very small and lost detail...
Thanks for the responses
The plane is completely scratch-built from Styrofoam and covered in brown parcel paper. It is a two channel (aileron and elevator) slope glider. On the slope it gets some heavy landings, needs to take the knocks and be cheap and easy to repair. Scale detailed it is not...
I am trying to complete the markings on my PSS 1/10th scale Me109.
Does anyone know of a high def drawing of Galland's Mickey Mouse and Squadron badge on this site or is there a company that sells such decals.
Thanks Mike
Hi,
Done a search for this on the site but it eludes me.
Could someone please let me know the RGB codes for a Spitfire during the period of the Battle of Britain. I believe the colour scheme was Dark Green and Earth Brown camouflage and Duck Egg Green underneath.
Thanks
Mike
This is becoming an interesting debate. Suggesting Mitchell would have been happy with a "straight" wing but had to "broaden" the wing to accommodate the armament. There appears to be no other advantages to the eliptical wing once more powerful engines were introduced. (see shortround6 above)...
The Spitfire is probably my favourite aircraft and I have made several flying models but I wonder, why were it's wings so designed?
From what I can gather the wings were a pain for the production department. In the Battle of Britain they fought on equal terms with the Bf109 which had straight...
If a fighter returned from a Battle of Britain dogfight and it had 3 or 4 clean bullet holes but no damage to vital parts how was the aluminium skin patched up. When would it receive a more permanent repair and how would this be done?
Was it the same procedure for German and British machines...
Sorry to make a request that has probably been done to death but... I have made a PSS 1/10 scale model and I want to paint it in colours of this period. Can anyone point me to a colour 3-view or recommend a book that will give me the detail?
Thanks
Mike
