Hi all,
I'm just curious. Does the application of camouflage paint to an aircraft have any influence on its rate of climb, and if so by how much?
Thanks
Considering that zoom climb was a performance characteristic that one would think would have been a very important aspect in the air to air combat environment of WWII, one would also think that this performance aspect would have been measured, charted, and recorded to death. Is there any such...
In terms of outright speed, perhaps not.
But where the performance was achieved was different.
Here are tests of the P-40E and the P-40F

Just wondering if anybody knows climbrate, either chart or in text, or a Spitfire Mkii with a Merlin XII engine.
I'd be happy with climb and speed charts but if all someone has is climb that is OK by me, so long as its relatively specific for altitudes up to atleast 6km ideally higher
