tiffies

My question concerns the Hawker Typhoon/Tempest: How early could a Sabre Tempest have been developed? How soon would Camm know that the Tiffie's wing would be a drawback at high altitudes, and what would earlier availability of the Tempest mean? Anyone have any thoughts?
