Using the Academy 1/48 P-38J as the bases and the Revell to modify with the P-38M is the basic concept. I hate the Revell P-38 kit as it is on the list of dog's. Noting that the P-38L was the bases of the 75 P-38M Night Lightings the L and J are the same airframe. The Revell kit has the basic changes for the M so lets see what happens.

The first set ar the Academy and the last on is the added parts from the Revell I need (I think).

Alright... a kit bash! Looking forward to seeing how the two kits go together.

Ok so I did some cutting destroying the Academy P-38 so that it cannot be recovered as a usable kit unto it's self. I found the Revell P-38 is quite a bit larger then the Academy, so it will take a bit of work (more then i thought), I think if I half the rear cockpit it will shrink in ht width I need. The Academy kit has the rear shell (glass) and I need to cut the revell parts down to fit it.

Looks like if I am going to get this done, I'll have to back up and just do the Revell OOB, this is not working and before I get too screwed up, the Revell can still be done.
