Thanks. It's really nothing to shout about though, I think the filters on the photo flatter it somewhat, ha ha. As I said it's not the greatest kit (hence Airfix putting out a new tooling I suppose - great subject matter after all). The fuselage and wings were OK, but after that... all these tiny misshapen bits of plastic, and nothing fit. Some of the moulding is just lazy, the wheels are horrible and the fuel probe at the front very crude. The antennae on the tailfin are hilarious - to scale they would be about three inches thick in real life. And weirdly one of the decals for the aft fuselage serial numbers is printed wrongly a completely different Buccaneer that didn't even serve with the FAA; fortunately I had two examples of this particular kit in the stash so I could lay my hands on a pair of correct ones. Still, who's interested in a review of an ancient kit, right? Masking the leading edges and air intakes was a lot more faffy than it should have been. And I excelled myself by spraying the nose with grey primer instead of varnish when I was nearly finished, so that took a bit of restorative work. All the same, it's nice to do something new and in these strange times it's a good way to pass a bit of indoor time.
 
I, for 1, like to see the craft of some of the builders and how they tackle the problems presented. I am frequently amazed by the handywork. So dont be shy and perhaps for another build make a start to finish thread.
 
Good job on an old kit. Far as I know, this release was an update of their original 'S1' kit, which was based on the prototype ( !! ), and released in the early 1960s.
If you think this ones bad, try the 1/48th scale kit ! (looks OK when done, but what a sod of a kit to build !).
