With 4-5 Weeks left I thought I would like to build this one for the Carrier Group Build.
Not a great Navy man I have always had a facination for Boeing products and this one has always been a favorite.
It didn't get the priority due to Boeings commitment to B-17 and B-29 production and only three prototypes were completed before wars end

Started cleaning up the wings and fuselage.
Not being a main stream kit it is a bit rough around the edges!
heavy sprue attachments that need a lot of cleaning up.
Been doing a bit of sanding to try and get a sharper trailing edge

I think if Boeing had been given a contract it would have full filled the same roll as the Skyraider.
another interesting fact Boeing patented the retracting mechanisim used on the P-40 etc but this was the first time they used it themselves.

A bit anachronistic though...

I'm looking forward to your build as I have both Valom kits of this bird. Let me know if I can help with info, I have the following:

Thanks for the offer Jim, but I got both of those books myself.
The Last of the Line has great photos!
I would like to get the other Valom kit in an all blue scheme but haven't got around to it yet.

Yes I know what you mean and the work they put into the manuals and only made three planes.
I might be admitting to being a bit of a geek but I love all that stuff
 
Glued the wings together and started cleaning them up.
Also checking the fuselage wing fit, a bit of sanding and filling to be done!

Was comparing it against a mustang in the same scale, must have been huge for a single seat fighter.
