I thought this would be a nice thread for all the music fans out there. List 10 songs to listen to by a certain band. 10 songs that you think are great songs to listen to. I will stick mostly to Heavy Metal bands since this is the area of music that I like the best but you can post from any genre of music that you wish. Obviously there are lots of songs that should be listened to by any band out there but I am limiting this to just 10.

1. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Master of Puppets 1986
The song is about someone being locked away in a mental institute and can also be interpreted as soemone who is lost in society. The idea for the song came from the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".

4. One - ...And Justice For All 1988
Inspired by Dalton Trumbo's book/movie "Johnny Got His Gun" and the character is confined to a hospital and is sustained via a tube after suffering catastrophic injuries from a mortar shell (although a land mine is mentioned as the cause of injury in the song lyrics) during the First World War. Although he survived, the explosion caused incredible loss of limbs, including both his arms and legs, along with most of his face including his eyes, nose, ears leaving him blind, deaf, mute and almost completely immobile.

It is about corrupt justice in which the money becomes more important than the truth.

Ten songs to listen to by Paradise Lost

paradise_lost05.jpg

One of the original Goth Metal bands, Yorkshire bred Paradise Lost have been providing us with depressing and downbeat tunes for nearly 20 years. Starting off sounding more akin to a down tempo Napalm Death, they matured into electro lead Depeche Mode rock, before now going partially back to their original sound. So, in no real order, I'd recommend you listen to.

Say Just Words (One Second)
Fader (Believe in Nothing)
As I Die (Shades of God)
Forever After (Paradise Lost)
Once Solemn (Draconian Times)
Gothic (Gothic)
Pity the Sadness (Shades of God)
Erased (Symbol of Life)
The Enemy (In Requiem)
One Second (One Second)
