17 Pursuit Sqaudron in Java 1942

I am reading the unit historys and I find multiple references to shooting down Me-110 aircraft over Java in early 42.

Does anyone have any idea what aircraft these may have been? Nick? Lily? Dinah? ??

KI-45 may have been introduced.
Chennault noticed them in 1942 in China.

The only thing I can think of off hand that would resemble the twin rudder Me 110 would be the GM3 Nell.

Most likely as there were plenty of them but they are a much larger aircraft which is why I had not considered them.

According to FM 30-38 the Mitsubishi type 93 recon but that was obsolete and fixed gear. Francillon says it was code named Louise but not operational.

Francillon also shows the Kawasaki Ki-56 (Thalia - loosely modeled on the Lockheed 14 but longer with other extras), the Tachikawa type LO (Thelma) and Lockheed 14 (Toby) which were around at the time and the Tachikawa Ki-70 which came much later.
