After I finsihed my SBD Dauntless I thought it was time for a another diversion.
I've always like the Ford GT so I bought a 1/24 scale Polar Lights pre-painted and snap together kit. I did repaint most of the interior, engine, engine compartment and some other odds ends. Most of the kit went together reasonably well though the body to chassis fit was a pain in the butt. Epoxy and clamps solved that problem.
The air intakes behind the doors I had to paint black (which they are not on the real car) because there was a major defect in the factory paint. I did not have access to the yellow so I painted mine black. Oh, and if you look close there is a crack in the windshield. I was clamping the body down and applied just a tad too much force...the car has road rash!
Overall , a fun build that looks cool and will look nice next to the Audi R8 on the shelf...
