It gets worse, I came across 4 more:
Joey Feek, country western singer, 2 year battle with cervical cancer, died March 4 at 40
Frank Sintra Jr, cardiac arrest while on tour, died March 16 at 72
Christina Grimmie, 2014 3rd place winner on The Voice, shot 4 times while signing autographs, died June 10 at 22
Robert Velline, 60s teen idol Bobby Vee with 6 gold singles, died Oct 24 Alzheimer's disease at 73

Fictional characters don't count. Anywho add another:
Barbara Tarbuck, stage and screen actress "Jane Jacks" on General Hospital, died Dec 26

Add another that I've just been made aware of:
Alan Young, who played Wilbur Post the owner of the Famous Mr. Ed talking horse, died May 19

I can concur with that list Mike had three close members of my family this year all within six months.
