Looking for any photos of the left side of P-51B 42-106911 "Yipee Joe", especially any closeups of the markings. I have the profile and right-side photo shown in "Escort to Berlin", looking for any shots of the art. Images I have shown below, along with what I need them for. :)

Treize,

There's a nice shot of the Yipee Joe nose art in Troy White's book (p. 71) on Kidd Hofer - "Last of the Screwball Aces." If you don't have it already, send me your e-mail address in a pm and I will scan it for you.

Cheers,

Tim

Hey Treize,

Don't know if you're still following this topic but thought I'd give you a heads up. We have looked through existing photos and have determined that Yippee Joe was not 42-106911 as previously thought, but was in fact 42-103332, a kite that later went to 336 and was lost on D-Day.

We are not sure if and when McKennon ever flew this a/c, as he was off flight duty awaiting leave for the majority of it's time in 335.

If you're interested in more of the details let me know.

Cheers,

Guys - My dad was in 336 and here's a photo of him with Yipee Joe.
