Hi All, My dad gave me this seat years ago and it's just been kicking around the garage. The story goes he was given it while in Papua New Guinea where he was a pilot in the 60's and 70's. He told me it's from a zero and from the photo's I've found online it seems it might be though I can't find any markings. What are your thoughts? Do these attract any value?
Thanks in advance.
Jim

Welcome to the site.

Actually one images can be not enough to state if it was used for the Zero or not. But if it looks like the one in the footage below it could be.

PS. Also I would like to remind that trading and advertising on the forum isn't allowed.

Thanks so much for that, I definitely think it's the same as the video with only a minor difference in the orientation of the over the shoulder strap mounting on the back.

I wonder if it is possible to learn more about the model it came from at all?

Roger that on the advertising and trading. Its not for sale, would you know of any sites that could provide valuation just out of interest?

I see. Here is another shot of the back of the seat for the A6M2 . It should be kept in mind that Zeros were manufactured but two factories at least. So a layout of the chair details might have varied from. IMHO it can't be stated for sure what sub-typel of the A6M unless these were really different and varied in the construction, dimensions etc.

Regarding the sites that could provide valuation ... sorry I don't know. But if you use the Google you may try to find the info.
