If anyone can help i'm currently trying to find a clear enough image to work out what japanese text should be on the two forward red pull handles on the lower right hand side of the cockpit and also for the electrical control box mounted on the left hand side. Regards

The image of the crashed Zero is very useful, unfortunately no images showing the label text.

Lee,

I do believe these are the correct labels for the two red handles. I think that they were stamped on the label in two lines. If they were, I don't know which character would start the second line. Possibly after 出. This would break it down to the first four characters on the top line meaning Emergency Leg Extension, followed by the last three for Handle Left/Right.

応急脚出把手左 Emergency Leg Extension Handle, Left

応急脚出把手右 Emergency Leg Extension Handle, Right

My pleasure. I don't know if you need this or not, but here is the same info as above with a different orientation and also with the label written with two lines. I checked with my wife and that would be the proper place for the second line to start. That's assuming that those two labels were written in two lines. I haven't seen a clear enough photo to see how they are written. I have photos of different handles, but not those two, and there is a mix of how the kanji is written and their orientation in those other handles.

Really grateful thanks for your valuable input, without it would have drawn a complete blank on this.
