Looking for some high quality pictures and having no luck. If someone could help me out, I'd be greatly appreciative. All I ever find is T6's made to look like Zero's and or vintage archive photos without enough detail.

This would be reference for an illustration I am working on and full color high res authentic A6M1 would work fine, if I could find one.

    Thank you in advance.

X-133 is an A6M3. If you are looking for any Zeros, I have a bunch of pictures that I have taken over the years.

Chino also has a real one. This (X-133) one is part of the CAF SoCal Wing at Camarillo. Here it is with the Chino Zero, which is an A6M5. The A6M5 has the original Sakae engine in it too. The CAF Zero is a Pratt and Whitney.

I think this website is so helpful for the A6M1 appearences.

If you are maniac enough to identify the 1st (or 2nd) prototype, please check the image attached.
Body and wing color could have been orange. Good luck.

Chino is actually to the east of Los Angeles by some distance, in San Bernardino County.

Camarillo is to the northwest of Los Angeles, up in Ventura County.

The distance between the two towns is about 80 miles or so, as the crow flies...

Dave has it about right, although I think they may be a little further apart. If the Planes of Fame and CAF combined, that would be one kick-ass museum! They do often have events where planes from one museum show up at the other.

Great additional info on the Zero, Shinpachi!

Thanks evangilder for your favorable words for me but -

Now, Wayne - a very expert of Zero fighter seems coming up, I have re-checked my
knowledge about the A6M1 to update.

    Correction with apology

Type 12 Experimental Carrier Fighter was a prototype for Type 0 Carrier Fighter (Zero fighter).
It had two models - A6M1 and A6M2a.

A6M2a was later designated as Model 11.

    A6M1 had only two planes.

The illustration of engine cowl already belongs to old knowledge.
The latest understanding is there was no extruded air-intake on the engine cowl.
Also, the body and wing color was not orange but green-gray.

As a result, it has been turned out that the appearences of A6M1 of the link I introduced is correct.

    Thanks.

Oh, Wayne. You've hit the bull's eye.
That is the only one picture of A6M1 being left.

I noticed you are located in LA. You can go to Chino to see their A6M5 or Camarillo to see the A6M3.
