I wonder if this is pre or post Pearl Harbor? Can we get a translation for the back of the photo?

According to different another sources I found ....

Imperial Japanese Navy Lieutenant Zenji Abe stands proudly in front of two Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighters on the deck of the Akagi, late 1941 or early 1942.

Not exactly solved ... mjfur needs the translation of the texy at the back of the image. Although each could have written it there himself it would be nice to know what it is stated there.

The give-away is the quilted covering on the engine cowling. After the Carrier Striking Force crossed the more temperate latitudes en route to O'ahu, the covers were dispensed with. This feature appears in several images from the period when Kidō Butai crossed the North Pacific during the week following its departure from Hitokappu Bay on Etorofu in the Kuriles... one cold, desolate place, if there even was one. One can see a similar cover in this attached photo, also taken on board Akagi. The men are fortifying the island with mattresses in lieu of ballistic shielding. Photo from the collection of Al Makiel, a wonderful friend from years gone by!
