As the vehicle has front drive sprockets, the forward, upper section of track would continue to be driven, until falling off. However, that doesn't explain how the section of track is so far forward from the lower break, at the (presumably) removed road wheel and return roller. Maybe the 'Plastic Dak' heaved and dragged the track out?
Being really pedantic, the guy sitting on the rocks, if a trained soldier, would never lay down his MP40 in that way, as the ejection port would be in the dust!
Still a very nice cameo though!!
