Despite flying in mid '43, due to relatively low priorety (compared to the Meteor) and preoccupation of DH with the Mossie, the Vampire Mk.I had barely be in production with a handfull completed before the war's end. It didn't enter service until after.
No AB was used operationally, probably just an experement. (using more powerful Goblin models or Ghost or Nene engines would be simpler, more effective and was actually done with the Nene on some production RAAF a/c)
And why post a picture of the compressor intake? That doesn't show the AB at all.
