I wonder if the knock on effect of the various conflicts are starting to come into play. I noticed that the rebels in Syria are starting to make significant inroads into areas controlled by Assad and his troops. Russia has been weakened by the War in Ukraine, whilst Iran and Hezbollah have been weakened by Israel, resulting in his troops more or less being left by themselves.

DPRK troops are faring about as well as their Russian comrades, it appears.

Further top what Thumpalumpacus Thumpalumpacus has written above, see here:

Collective defence and Article 5

and here:

Consensus decision-making at NATO

General Sir Richard Shirreff actually addresses this within his semi-fictional book:

One of the challenges will be that there are 2 possibly 3 countries that I suspect would not be willing to assist.

The good news is that Art 5 doesn't require unanimous military action. Different members are allowed to lend support as they see fit.

US/NATO intel is reporting that Russia has begun rationing artillery - though it is not clear how much of this is due to lack of artillery pieces, shortages of artillery rounds, an attempt to reroute and build up a supply for an offensive, or some combination of the above. Lack of transport and fuel may be a significant factor in some areas. Usage rates on locations appear to indicate that the material is being conserved for use in areas of major offensives, at the cost of pretty much every other area on the front.

US/NATO intel is reporting that over 800 North Korean military personnel in the Ukraine theater have been killed or seriously wounded.

The source for the above is usually accurate.

It looks like the waiting is over.

The Trump teams official stance on Ukraine is simple.

Russia did not invade Ukraine.

The war was started by Biden and Zelenski and they must grovel to Putin and abide with his demands.

Speaking of the crash of the ruble =- the below is against the USD though other currency comparisons show essentially the same:
Against the Zimbabwe Gold...
