Ally parts at RAF Oakley

Good afternoon , first post , please could anyone help with ID this aluminium plate that i have found at the end of the runway at former RAF Oakley

I have found parts at Oakley, part no 4227 413 and larger part ALV 168 - CN2. Any idea anyone.

Part with "422" prefix is possibly Wellington and "ALV" inspection Stamp is for Alvis Motors Coventry, a subcontractor. 11 OTU was at Oakley with Wellingtons and a Lancaster came to grief at the end of one of the runways. I'm sure I've seen both parts before........but on which wreck.

According to a list of part prefixes the ones For Wellington were :


The 422 isn't on the list ... I'm afraid.
