I get this image of some guy toodling along in his little utility golf-cart, glancing over, and thinking to himself "now what sort of idiot leaves a chunk of metal layin around in the middle of an airfield? I'll just go on over and pick up what looks like a bomb fin.....hey....wait...."

Yeah,
there's stories of all sorts of stuff buried around here. there's not likely to be much (if any) live ammo though, the airfield was only really used for training.

Unfortuantely, it was more than 400m away from work, so we didn't get the afternoon off
