Despite having 20 confirmed victories, the only information on Hidaka Yoshimi is very limited. He is not mentioned in "Japanese Naval Air Force Fighter Units and their Aces 1932-45", "Japanese Aces of WW2" or any other books I'm aware of. The only things that seem to be known is that he was with the 6th Kokutai, he stayed with the Kokutai when it was renamed the 204th Kokutai, he took part in the Yamamoto Escort Mission and finally that he was killed in action on 7 June 1943. After looking through the tactical operation records for the 6th Kokutai and the 204th Kokutai, I can only find 6 shared P-40 victories and the unconfirmed victory over a P-38 on the Yamamoto escort mission. Nowhere near 20. Does anybody know details about his 20 victories, or if he served with any other Kokutais?
