IMHO these planes are the Grumman F4F Wildcat.
And somewhat the worse for wear. The one in front looks like a ground loop victim. Probably some sort of boneyard or salvage/cannibalisation facility.Or, rather Eastern Aircraft FM-2.
What's that got to do with the photo in post #1?Tacloban was the airfield built by the US Army right after the invasion at Leyte Gulf where the Taffy 3 jeep carrier aircraft diverted to when they came under attack by the IJN surface ships. They accumulated quite an collection of aircraft along the sides of the field, and Army and Navy teams managed to rearm and refuel many of those aircraft and launch them again, one reason that the IJN concluded that they were being attacked by Halsey's large carriers and retreated.
USAAF P-38's, flown by pilots that included Jerry Johnson and Dick Bong, landed there later that day to provide air cover for the invasion.
