Not sure if this is posted anywhere else, but this series has started recently on Channel 4 (UK)

All digitally enhanced original footage and actual colour film from the time. It is a time line of WW2 and has filled in some of the gaps in my knowledge!!

Try and switch off the commentator voice

I'm sure the purist will find some inaccuracies but it is trying to compact the six years of war into a short series.
