Marcel and I tried for several weeks to meet up and visit this museum, but our schedules just never matched up. What a great outdoor museum that has been restored with both WWI and WWII relics and dioramas. Some of the bunkers have been 100% restored so I highly recommend visiting here. Just walking through the tunnels was an incredible throw back in time. I found out the German Navy was responsible for most, if not all, of the defense of the Atlantik Wall. Germany constructed 15,000 bunkers over 5,000 kilometers built by both volunteer labor and POW labor. Most of the initial guns used in WWII were WWI guns and captured guns and were eventually replaced with German navy guns and German army field guns.

Great stuff. I've passed by the area a few times, but never had the time to stop and have a look, due to either travelling from, or to a ferry. Hopefully, I'll get there when I go to Arnhem and the Ardennes, possibly next year.
