Who knows how the de-icing of the leading edges (main planes, horizontal stabilizer and fin) worked on the B-17F Flying Fortress?
Swelling rubber, then hot air as on the B-17G ?

My Father used an alcohol tank from a B-17 as a fuel tank for his Stits Skycoupe which might still be flying. CF-XGY
